Former McLouth Bulldog, Shannon Greene Off to Solid Start In College
Shannon Greene

The whistle of the ball as it passes a swing bat and slaps into the catchers leather glove is a sound a pitcher loves to hear and for McLouth Bulldog, Shannon Greene has logged plenty of pitches in her softball career and is doing so now at Kansas City Kansas Community College as she continues her softball career.

Greene in her freshman campaign with KCKCC has helped the Blue Devils off to a 8-4 start on the diamond and she has been a strong force for the team inside the circle. The former McLouth Bulldog has pitched in six games posting a 4-1 record with four complete games logging 34 innings giving up 20 runs on 60 hits with 13 strikeouts to only two walks and touts a 3.91 ERA. Shannon has also stepped into the batter’s box a few times this season and is 3-6 with two runs scored and three walks.

While at McLouth Greene was dominate inside the circle and on the softball field leaving McLouth after helping the Bulldogs make State in 2014 and take third at State in 2015. Greene also set four school records for no-hitters (10), perfect games (7), career wins (41) and career strikeouts (408), while carrying a 1.43 career ERA and .526 batting average. She also earned All-League honors all four years on the field.

Greene looks to continue to stymie batters from inside the circle and help KCKCC put together a strong season.
