Former ACCHS Tiger, Lillie Holtgrave Helping Fort Scott Basketball Team Win
Lillie Holtgrave

It’s been a solid year on the court for the lady Greyhounds of Fort Scott Community College as they sit at 13-3 on the year and won their last two games.

A key contributor to the success for the team has been former ACCHS Tiger, Lillie Holtgrave who is now in her sophomore campaign at Fort Scott and playing well for the basketball team. The Greyhounds most recently dispatched Southeast Community College 75-53 a game in which Holtgrave made her eighth start of the year and netted 16 points her season best, reaching double figures for the 12th time in her college career. In the game before that Lillie tallied 11 points against Hesston College in a 100-54 victory.

On season Holtgrave has started all 16 games for Fort Scott with eight starts averaging eight points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and one steal per game. The former ACCHS Tiger has recorded five double digit scoring performances this year and has at least nine points in nine of the teams 16 games. As a freshman, Holtgrave hit the court for Fort Scott playing in 29 games with 11 starts and posted 7.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Her best game in college was a 23 point performance her freshman year against Cottey College as she went 5-9 from three but it came in a loss for Fort Scott.

In high school Holtgrave earned first team All-Big Seven League basketball honors her senior year along with honorable mention All-State after averaging 12 points, three rebounds and 3.5 steals per game.

Holtgrave looks to continue to make an impact on the basketball court for Fort Scott the remainder of the season as the Greyhounds look to continue to chalk up wins and finish the season strong.
