Former MH-MA Raven, Harry Trotter Finds Success in Backfield at Fort Scott
Harry Trotter

It's sometimes hard to jump from high school to college and make an immediate impact on the field or court as a freshman but former Maur Hill-Mount Academy Raven, Harry Trotter did just that this year at Fort Scott Community College.

The former Raven jumped right into the fold for the Fort Scott Greyhounds football team this year and made his presence felt throughout the season making in impact out of the backfield at runningback and earned himself All-Conference honorable mention honors in the KJCCC in the process. Trotter on the season accumulated 146 carries notching 503 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 86 yards receiving on 14 catches throughout the year. His eight rushing touchdowns ranks fifth in the KJCCC and his 503 rushing yards ranks 11th in the conference.

Harry made an impact in the first game of the season for Fort Scott rushing for his first collegiate touchdown against Butler Community College and three games later Trotter had his best game of his freshman season. Against Central Methodist JV Trotter ran for 159 yards on 19 carries with three touchdowns as Fort Scott routed them 70-0 to earn one of the teams four wins on the season as the Greyhounds went 4-7 on the year.

In high school Trotter enjoyed plenty of success while at Maur Hill helping the team to the 3A playoffs his junior and senior years posting 7-3 records each of those seasons. In his senior year he earned All-State at runningback and also first team All-Northeast Kansas League at runningback and linebacker both as he ran for 1,657 yards on 157 carries with 19 touchdowns and led the team in tackles with 94. In his high school career Trotter totaled 2,940 yards rushing with 39 touchdowns and registered 245 tackles, while also being a multi-sport athlete competing in baseball, basketball and track.

Trotter got his collegiate football career off and running with a solid start contributing as a freshman for Fort Scott and looks to continue to work to take the next step as a player and push ahead for next year.
