From winning a state championship at Valley Falls to winning a KCAC Championship at Ottawa University, Allison Kearney has done it all and just last week cross off another honor after she was named the conference player of the week.
In four games last week, Kearney hit .429, launched three home runs, hit two doubles, scored five runs and had a .438 on-base percentage.
As the Braves’ starting second baseman, the third-year player is hitting .353 on the season with 13 doubles, one triple and 26 RBI along with stealing 10 bases.
She has compiled 112 hits in her career along with a career batting average of .344 and 75 RBIs while also stealing 20 bases.
Kearney had the flare for the big game even in high school, as she collected three hits, two runs scored and one RBI in the Dragons 2-1A State Championship victory her junior season all while tossing seven innings in the circle and allowing just five hits.
She now turns her attention to the postseason as the Braves will open KCAC Tournament play next week which is scheduled to get underway on Wednesday, May 5.
