Former Frankfort Wildcat Emilee Ebert Leading K-State Women as a Sophomore
Emilee Ebert

Making the transition from small-town Kansas to a big city can be a daunting task for most teenagers but for former Frankfort Wildcat Emilee Ebert she has made it seem easy and making her name known at the collegiate level.

Ebert is currently in her sophomore season on the Kansas State Women’s Basketball team and has proven why she was one of the top small-school basketball players in the state as she has started in all 15 of the Wildcats’ games this season.

Through K-State’s first 15 games of the season she is averaging five points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal per game while shooting 77 percent from the free throw line and 32 percent from the 3-point line.

Those numbers put her fifth on the team in scoring, third on the team in rebounding, first in assists, second in blocks and third in steals.

She has scored in double-figures once this season in a 12-point outing against UMKC and has five games with at least five rebounds and seven games with at least four assists.

This comes after limited minutes as a freshman where she played just eight minutes per game, averaging 1.5 points in 24 games.

At Frankfort, Ebert set the school record for career points with 1,648 and was named a first team all-Twin Valley League selection all four years while also earning first team all-state as a junior and senior.

She was named a McDonald’s All-American nominee after her senior season and racked up top 15 all-classes honors from the Topeka Capitol Journal.

In her track and field career she was named all-state in Class 1A three times and in 2019 captured a state championship in the long jump while finishing fourth in the 100-meter dash at state.

Ebert is now showcasing her talents at one of the highest levels and will look to continue her strong play as the Cats have just six games remaining in the regular season.
