Whenever a high school athlete starts a career at the collegiate level, typically goals are set in which they hope to achieve.
For former Jeff West Tiger Olivia Brees she has achieved nearly all of the success you could have, as this past week the senior Baker Wildcat was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time in 2019.
In the past week Brees went 4-0 in the circle and earned a save while striking out 52 batters in 24.2 innings of work.
This all comes after a 17-strikeout performance in a win over Evangel March 19 where she also went over 1,000 strikeouts for her career.
On the season Brees to this point has posted a 14-2 record with six saves and an earned run average of just 0.82.
She has also had 12 games of 10-plus strikeouts, including a 19-strikeout performance in a win over Clarke University March 23.
She is well on her way to being named the Heart Conference Pitcher of the Year, which all comes after being named a three sport first team all-Big 7 league selection in high school.
Brees will look to continue her strong season at Baker in the final month, as the Wildcats are currently 23-5 and with a four game lead with a chance to wrap up a Heart Conference regular season championship.
