Levi Huneke

A tackling machine and playmaker while at Sabetha and not much has changed in college as former Sabetha Bluejay, Levi Huneke now a senior at Ottawa University is enjoying a strong senior year for the Braves and has had a strong college football career at Highland Community College and Ottawa.
Most recently Huneke helped Ottawa move to 3-3 on the season with a 55-52 win over McPherson College and from his linebacker spot registered 13 tackles with two tackles for loss, ½ sack, a fumble recovery and two interceptions. The tremendous showing on the field earned Levi the “Defensive Player of the Week” honors in the KCAC.
Huneke on the season in six games has notched 53 tackles (second on team), one sack, a fumble recovery and three interceptions and entered his senior year getting the nod with preseason All-KCAC honors. Levi currently is tied for the most interceptions in the KCAC, ranks eighth in tackles per game (8.8) and sixth in total tackles. The former Sabetha Bluejay earned honorable mention All-KCAC honors his junior year in college and first season with Ottawa after recording 50 tackles, which was fourth best on the team for the year and also registered a sack and fumble recovery.
Before transferring to Ottawa University Huneke continued his football career at Highland Community College where he played in 17 games including all 11 his sophomore year. Levi recorded 54 tackles and four sacks as a Scottie.
As a Bluejay, Huneke earned All-Big Seven League honors twice and first team All-State honors in 2013 a year in which he ranked fifth in Class 3A in tackles with 127 tackles. The former Bluejay was also a standout wrestler taking sixth and fifth place in Class 3A at State at 182lbs in 2012 and 2013.
The former Bluejay looks to finish his college football career strong and help the Ottawa Braves put together a solid season in the process.
