The Rossville girls wrestling team hosted its invitational Friday afternoon, welcoming more than 20 teams for a competitive day of action on the mats.
Wamego captured the team championship with 173.5 points, edging Santa Fe Trail, which finished second with 158.5 points. Sabetha placed third with 114 points, followed closely by Jefferson West in fourth with 112 points. Nemaha Central rounded out the top five with 95 points.
Individual Results
115 pounds – Lauren Smith (ACCHS) earned a second-place finish, while Sophie Waters (Jefferson West) placed third. Alexis Bebe (Nemaha Central) finished fifth.
120 pounds – Kinsey Loecker (Riley County) claimed the title by defeating Kiarah Dalinghaus (Sabetha) in the championship match. Hadley Brown (Rossville) placed fourth, and Bri Guilliams (Doniphan West) finished sixth.
125 pounds – Emma Vice (Maur Hill–Mount Academy) won the championship with a tech fall over Rachel Cera (Riverside). Junne Paine (Rossville) took third place, and Kaylee McKee (ACCHS) finished fifth.
130 pounds – Annabele Burton (Riley County) defeated Payge Vetsch (Jefferson West) to secure third place. Makinley Daniels (Oskaloosa) earned fifth with a win over Harper Foster (Nemaha Central).
135 pounds – Autumn Feldkamp (Nemaha Central) placed second after falling to Mya Crabtree (West Franklin) in the title match. Ariana Unruh (Jefferson West) finished third, and Cate Swafford (Maur Hill–Mount Academy) placed fifth.
140 pounds – Hollie Finneran (Maur Hill–Mount Academy) captured the championship by defeating Georgia Shinliver (Wellsville). Mya Vetsch (Jefferson West) earned third place, while Abigayle Pyle (Sabetha) finished fifth.
145 pounds – Rossville’s Madelynn Wonnell claimed the title with a win over Mia Munden (Larned) in the finals. Lily Perkins (Oskaloosa) placed third, and Natalie Peltzer (Maur Hill–Mount Academy) finished fifth.
170 pounds – Lola O’Neil (Sabetha) won the championship by defeating Eva Wyatt (Burlingame). Lennox Dooley (Jefferson West) finished fourth.
190 pounds – Layla Kunhert (Doniphan West) went a perfect 4–0 on the day to secure first place.
