Local Teams Compete at Nebraska District Wrestling Meets

(KTNC) -  Nebraska District Wrestling Tournaments were held last weekend.
 In Class B, District 1, Nebraska City was the team champion with 222 points; Syracuse was second with 174-and-a-half points.  Auburn was 7th with 48-and-a-half points, followed closely by Falls City, in 8th place with 44 team points.
 Individually, Falls City’s top place winner was Wade Maddox, who was 3rd and 152 pounds.  Fourth place finishes were turned in by Morgan Valentine at 120-pounds and Chase Thompson at 182-pounds.
 Auburn also had one third place and two fourth place finishers.  Nate Moran was 3rd at 220-pounds, while 4th place finishes went to Dalton Shearer at 132-pounds and Alec Dunn at 195.

 Johnson County Central and HTRS/Pawnee City competed in the Class-C, District 1 Tournament. 
 The Thunderbirds placed 13th in the 16-team field with 22 points, with the Titans 14th with 17 points.
 One state qualifier for JCC, at 132-pounds, where Cody Broadfoot placed 4th in the District meet.

 The State Wrestling Meet is this Thursday through Saturday in Omaha.
