It was a non-league and non-district game that Rossville completely dominated Holton pitching a shutout 21-0 in week six action Friday night. Holton was held to less than 100 yards of total offense and had three turnovers while the visiting Bulldogs converted their first seven times on third down, which helped produced a pair of touchdowns on their first two drives and a 14-0 halftime lead. Rossville scored late in the third quarter to the final points of the night and had 146 yards rushing and 138 passing in a balanced and efficient attack.

Holton had just two first downs and 38 yards of offense in the first half with a fumble before throwing a couple interceptions after intermission to complete an 0-6 night passing. The Cats totaled 93 yards rushing with Kyler Jackson having 37 yards on 13 carries, Abbott Hundley adding 29 yards on 10 carries and Caleb Chermock (filling in at fullback) carrying the ball 9 times for 25 yards. Holton averaged less than three yards per carry and their longest play of the game was 9 yards while two of their five first downs on the night came via penalty.

Rossville ended up converting 11 of 16 times on third down with Camden Horak completing 12 of 25 passes to a handful of different receivers and adding a one-yard rushing score and 30 yards total on the ground. Seth Catron had 42 yards on 5 catches while Jack Donovan had 3 grabs for 25 yards and the first touchdown of the game on an eight-yard reception. Tayson Horak had a pair of catches for 34 yards and led the ground attack with 80 yards, including a 37-yard run to make it 21-0 in the final minute of the third period.

Both teams have a record of 3-3 on the season and head back into district play as Rossville will finish their 2A district against Pleasant Ridge and MH-MA while Holton (2-0 in district) has a district title game at Topeka Hayden next week.
