The State Powerlifting Meets took place this past weekend from Class 1A to Class 6A.

Notable results include the Hiawatha girls finishing in fifth place as a team in Class 3A. Kiara Stone took home third place in bench, third in squat, and second place overall in her division at 132.
Sutton Diller took home first place overall in the 148 division as she finished first place in bench, first in squat, and fourth place in the clean.
Zoey Stec at MHMA won the 165 womens division at the meet. Took 1st in bench, 1st
in cleans. 3rd in squat. She also won the Powerweight lifter of the meet, awarded to only one girl. Set the bench record in her class
On the boys side in Class 2A, Tristen Baker of Pleasant Ridge took home first place overall in the 114 division finishing first place in bench, first in squat, and second place in the clean.
Oskaloosa's Cooper Talliferrio finished in fourth place in the 132 division including a second place finish in the bench press. His teammate Cord Perry finished second overall in the 165 division with a first place finish in squat plus third place finishes in both bench and clean.
Samuel Drinkard of Valley Falls took home second place in the 181 division as he got first in bench and was 65 pounds above second place. He also finished fourth in squat and fourth place in the clean.
Sam Joyce of Maur Hill-Mount Academy finished in second place in the heavyweight division. Joyce was first place in bench, third in squat, and third in the clean.
