Horton Girls Win 1A State Powerlifting while Boys Finish Fourth

The Horton girls powerlifting team took home First Place this past weekend at the State Meet while the boys finished in fourth place. 

Tysaa Banks took home first place in the 105 division to lead Horton while Maliyah Soto and Carley Hutfles posted second place finishes. Soto at 140 and Hutfles at 165. 

Kamryn Kahbeah tallies a third place finish in the 105 division while Piper Chartier, Carley Hammersmith, Rylan Miller, and Harmonie Garrison also finish in third place. Chartier at 140, Hammersmith at 165, and Miller at 180.

Ashtyn Keo takes home fourth at 123 and Amayah Boller also finishing in fourth at 180. 

Madison Stirton and Isabelle Gaskell round out the Horton girls with fifth and sixth place finishes respectively. 

The Horton boys finished State in fourth with a couple of second place finishes. Trey Lockwood finished in second place at 220 while John Boller was second at 242. 

Noah Thorpe finished in third place at 140 while Jack Allen finished in fourth place at 173. 

Three round out the Horton boys with sixth place finishes with Dalton Nioce at 156, Drew Weddington at 198, and Casey King at 220.
