Top 10 Moments of 2021: No. 2 - Girls Wrestlers Competing at State Tournaments

Five area girls competed at State Wrestling in Salina and all five girls placed with one winning a State Championship.

The State Champion was from Tannah Forbes of ACCHS. Tannah rolled through the 191-pound weight class to claim the title winning the title match by pin as she finished off her season with a 9-3 record.

Oskaloosa ended with a runner-up finish from Allison King at 155 as she lost by major decision in her title match.

Holton’s Macey Gross made history as she became the first Wildcat to earn a medal as she took fourth at 126 pounds.

State placers were rounded out by Royal Valley and Sabetha as the Panthers had Maya Ogden finish sixth at 138 while the Jays’ Kylie Meredith was fifth at 235.
