Nine Area Basketball Teams Highlight Feb. 2 KBCA Rankings

Feb. 2 KBCA – Rankings

Midseason high school basketball tournaments wrapped up last week and after strong showing around the area nine local teams are highlighted in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association rankings.

Two teams continue to hold serve in the Class 3A girl’s rankings as Nemaha Central has moved up a spot to No. 2 this week after a pair of ranked wins last week while Sabetha remains ranked fifth.

In Class 2A the Valley Heights girl’s continue to be ranked third after a strong win Friday over Wetmore who is ranked ninth in Class 1A-DII.

The girl’s rankings are rounded out in 1A-DI as the Jackson Heights Cobras has vaulted up to No. 2 in the rankings while Frankfort is up to No. 6.

On the boy’s side the Royal Valley Panthers continue to hold serve in the 3A rankings checking in this week at No. 7.

A new team is into the 2A rankings as Maur Hill-Mount Academy is ranked ninth this week while the rankings are rounded out in 1A-DI with the Centralia boys ranked sixth.
