A definite team effort of the six Peru State College (PSC) Bobcat women's basketball players resulted in a 65-53 win over the visiting Missouri Valley College Vikings on Saturday.

The win improved the Bobcats record to 6-10 overall and 2-3 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC).  With the win, the 'Cats are now tied for sixth in the ten-team league.  Missouri Valley fell to 1-3 in the HAAC and 4-12 overall with the loss.

All six Bobcat players scored in the game and were led by an outstanding performance by Courtney Ward (Bartlesville, Okla.).  Ward scored 24 points and had a career-high 23 rebounds.  Ward was 12 of 14 from the free throw line and blocked three shots.

Also scoring in double figures for Peru State was Karlee Stuart (Las Animas, Colo.).  Stuart finished with 14 points, grabbed five rebounds, and had five steals.

Later this week, Peru State will play two more HAAC games.  On Thursday, PSC hosts the Benedictine College Raves at 5:30 p.m. and then will travel to Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday to face the Avila University Eagles at 2 p.m.

The 'Cats will next be at home on Thursday, Jan. 17, when they host Graceland University at 5:30 p.m.
