Peru State's Shelbie Hess Earns Conference Honor

 For the first time this season, a Bobcat basketball player has earned Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) recognition. Shelbie Hess, a Bobcat women's basketball player from Phoenix, earned the recognition which was announced by the conference on Monday.

Despite her team losing on Sunday at St. Ambrose, Hess earned the women's honor. In the loss to the Queen Bees, the junior guard had a career-high 26 points while shooting 68.8% from the floor, including making four of six three-point attempts. Hess also tied for team-high rebounding honors with six and dished out two assists.

Currently, Hess leads the Bobcats in scoring averaging 19.0 points per game. Currently, that puts Hess third in overall HAAC scoring and 22nd in NAIA Division I. In addition, Hess is fifth in the HAAC and 44th in NAIA DI field goal percentage while hitting 48.2% of her attempts.
