Coming off a tough one-point loss to Riverside (38-37), the Doniphan West girls came out determined and quick at Troy on Friday night and would dominate the night.  The Lady Mustangs hit three of their inital four shots behind the arc and while building an early 17-4 advantage.  D-West led 28-9 at half and 41-16 entering the fourth quarter.  Kassidy Blevins earned Citizens State Bank and Trust Company honors for Player to Bank On with a team high 13 points, while Abbi Ellis added 12 and Scotti Twombly chipped in 9, including 8 in the first quarter and a pair of treys.  Troy was plagued by 25 turnovers and cold shooting.  Paige Fenley scored all 7 of her points in the third quarter, including a trey just before the buzzer, but the Troy starters did not play in the final eight minutes.  Kelli Marriot scored six in the first frame for Troy but that was it as the Trojans dropped to 1-1 with the home loss.

BOYS:
Similiar story, opposite teams in the boys game as Troy came out on fire and scored 29 straight points to build a 41-9 halftime advantage.  Doniphan West went nearly nine minutes without scoring a point and had 26 turnovers in the loss.  10 players scored for the Trojans led by Collin Jasper (Citizens State Player to Bank On) and William Boeh with 12 each.  Alex Schmille added 11 while Colton Masters and Caleb Winkel each chipped in 8 points off the bench.  D-West was paced by Derek Gibson with 10 points in their third lopsided loss to start the season.
