Royal Valley Wrestlers Sweep Topeka Duals

It was a great start to the season on the mat for the Royal Valley Panthers wrestlers and continued in the Topeka Duals as the Panthers came away with a sweep in the Topeka Duals over Topeka and Hayden.

Out of 24 total matches the Panthers finished the day with a 18-6 record, winning both duals. Royal Valley dispatched of Hayden in impressive fashion winning the matchup 64-10, while the dual with Topeka High was closer but the Panthers came out on top 38-31.

On the day the Panthers had six wrestlers finish with a perfect 2-0 record in the duals. Garrett Schultz (195) and Austin Ashley (113) both earned a win by fall in their weight classes and another win via forfeit on the day. While, Bryce Golightley (145), Tanner Ogden (152), Chance Ogden (160) and Christian Matthews (170) all earned two wins over opponents on the day. Both, Tanner Ogden and Christian Matthews who each earned a pair wins via fall, lead Royal Valley with five pins each on the year.

With the 2-0 performances, Tanner Ogden, Golightley and Christian Matthews all improved to a perfect 7-0 on the season. Chance Ogden and Ashley improved to 5-1 on the season with their 2-0 performances, with Schultz moving to 5-2.
