The Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) have announced the initial matchups for the HAAC-KCAC Football Series, which will be played at KCAC sites on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

The series, which was initially announced in July of 2011, will run for the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Pending the first year successes of the series, the HAAC and KCAC will look to extend the agreement.

For Peru State College (PSC), this means a match-up against Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., on the 14th in 2013.  Bobcat head coach Steve Schneider likes the idea of the head-to-head contests against the KCAC Moundbuilders of Southwestern.  Schneider said, “When I learned of the concept, I thought this would be good for both conferences.   With the proximity of the two conferences, this seems like a natural conference cross-over.  We look forward to going to Southwestern next year.”

Last season the Moundbuilders were 4-7 overall and 3-6 in the KCAC, but just lose nine seniors while Peru State said goodbye to 21 seniors following their season-ending win over Avila University.    The 'Cats finished 5-6 overall and 3-6 in the HAAC.

Pairings for the series will be based on conference rank from the previous year. Teams will compete against the opposite conference team of equal rank.
