Peru State Players Receive Conference Honors in Football

 Senior defensive lineman Zach Lempka (Sterling) and junior offensive lineman Tyler Ford (Lincoln) earned Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Football All-Conference First Team recognition as released on Monday. Lempka was named to the First Team Defense while Ford was named to the First Team Offense.

Twelve more Bobcats received recognition as well following Peru State's 7-4 record, including a 5-4 mark in the HAAC.

Named to the Second Team Offense was senior running back Ethan Bray (Liberal, Mo.). Curtis Larsen (Plattsmouth), senior linebacker was named to the Second Team Defense.

Earning Third Team Offense recognition was senior offensive lineman Dayton Graf (Lincoln) while sophomore defensive lineman Jon Draeger (Dunbar) was named to the Third Team Defense.

Five Bobcats received Honorable Offense honors – senior wide receiver Lance Steffen (Murdock), senior wide receiver Ryan Twehous (Central City), senior wide receiver J. D. Faxon (Odell), sophomore offensive lineman Dillon Bruggeman (Lincoln), and sophomore quarterback Tyler Audsley (Prescott Valley, Ariz.).

Earning Honorable Mention Defense honors were junior linebacker Shane Lloyd (Ridgecrest, Calif.), senior linebacker Jake Kelley (Beggs, Okla.), sophomore cornerback Logan Paben (Columbus), and junior safety Cody Sullivan (Roca).

Lempka had an outstanding senior campaign with 69 total tackles.  8 tackles for loss; 3 sacks; 1 interception; 5 pass deflections; 1 fumble recovery; 2 forced fumbles;  and 3 blocked kicks;
