The falls sports season in full and KSHSAA has released the 2017-18 Classifications for all sports outside of football the school year and five area teams are changing classes this year.

A pair of area teams are on the move up a classification as both Marysville and Mclouth and are jumping up a class. Marysville is making the move to Class 4A just on the edge of staying in 3A, while Mclouth jumps to Class 3A from 2A by just three on the enrollment.

A trio of teams that have been 2A for the past years are moving down to Class 1A this year that would be Troy, Valley Falls and Washington County. Both the Dragons and the Tigers are just two under the cutoff number for 2A thus moving down to 1A while Troy is comfortably under the top number for 1A enrollment by eight.

Total of 30 schools changed classifications this year with one other new school in the fold in Class 5A. For a full break down of the classifications see the link above.
