Looking to start District play with a win the Axtell Eagles and Frankfort Wildcats squared off under the lights in week five action and behind the aerial assault, Axtell picked up the road win, 62-28.

The game started off with Frankfort recovering an onside kick in Eagle territory and capitalizing on a short field the Wildcats pounced early behind a Jase Suther three-yard touchdown run and with the two-point conversion, made it 8-0.

Axtell after early struggles with the offense, got into a groove late in the first quarter and just into the second quarter the Eagles flew into the endzone as Colton Buessing slung the ball 21-yards to Shane Talbot for the score and tied the game at 8-8 after the two-point conversion. Colton Buessing connected with Talbot again this time for a 16-yard score, while running in a pair of scores as well from 20 and one-yard out. Tyler Jones set up the one-yard touchdown run by Colton Buessing after picking off a Frankfort pass and returning it to the one-yard line.

Frankfort had a late opportunity right before the half by saw it slip through their figures on a potential score, as the Wildcats tried to spice up the offense with Adam Kenworthy jumping in at quarterback for some action along with starter Jake Rose. While the Wildcats saw an opportunity go array late in the first half, they started with the possession in the second half and looked to find some momentum, but instead gave way for Axtell to notch a safety as Rose was called for intentional grounding on a pass he through from the goal line, giving Axtell the 32-8 lead.

After that the Axtell Eagle aerial attack continued as Colton Buessing tossed four more touchdown passes to finish with six as he found Adam Kuckelman twice for 15 and 70 yard scores, while connecting with Jacob Meybrunn and Kaleb Buessing for 39 and nine-yard touchdowns, respectively.

Frankfort down 46-8 looked to get back in the game and found offense and big plays in the fourth quarter as Adam Kenworthy tossed a 11-yard touchdown to Sheldon Parthemer and also notched a 15-yard touchdown run for the Wildcats. With a Suther 67-yard kick-off return touchdown sandwiched in between those scores for Frankfort.

The Eagles were led on the night by the gun slinging arm of Colton Buessing who finished 23-30 for 365 yards six touchdowns and one interception, while rushing for two scores earning him Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA. Adam Kuckelman and Talbot both tallied 100+ yards of receiving as Kuckelman finished with three receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns and Talbot had nine catches for 128 yards and a pair of scores.

For Frankfort in the loss the team struggled to find consistent offense finishing with only 162 yards rushing and 60 yards passing in the game. Suther finished with 93 yards on 24 carries and touchdown, along with his kick return TD, while Kenworthy did connect with Parthemer for a touchdown pass for the Wildcats.
