Sabetha Boys Golf Coach Randy Hall Named 2013 NFCA Coach of Year

Last year it was a great year for the Sabetha Bluejays boy’s golf team as they captured the school's second golf state championship in school history and first since 1968.

Coach Randy Hall a Sabetha high school grad himself lead his team to the state championship as they posted a team score of 336 strokes, three better than second place to win the 3A state golf championship. After the stellar year for Hall and his team he has picked up Coaching honors and they continue to come as he was named the boy’s golf 2013 National Federation Coaches Association State of Kansas Coach of the Year. On top of that honor he earned the Midwest regional Coach of the Year honors by the NFCA winning the section five honors which includes the states of Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

Coach Hall saw his team have six competitors in action at the State competition last year with Nolan Keim leading the way finishing ninth, while Tyler Ulrich placed 12th, Kevan Herbster finished 25th and Derek Halls posted a 48th place finish to combine with Keim for the Bluejays team score. Darrin Wenger and Brock Frey both also competed finishing 90th and 94th, respectively at State.

Hall is one of 12 honorees this year earning the NFCA Coach of the Year honor in a respective sport/category.
