On the day the classifications are set for the 2013-14 school year for Kansas high school athletics area girl's tennis and golf teams have learned where they will be playing their regional action to earn a trip to the state competition.

In girls golf only three area schools have teams and they all hail from the Big Seven league and are in Class 4A, as Holton, Jeff West and Santa Fe Trail all learned today that they will all face off with each other at Dubs Dread golf course in Kansas City with KC Piper playing host in that regional site. Other teams that will compete alongside the Big Seven league teams include host KC Piper, Hayden, Spring Hill, Bishop Meige, DeSoto and Basehor-Linwood. Golf action is slated for Monday October 14th.

As far as the sport of girl's tennis all the area teams are in the Class 3-2-1A outside of Atchison and Perry Lecompton who are both in Class 4A. For the Lady Red and the Kaws they will travel to Spring Hill for their regional action set for October 11th and 12th. They will have to face off with Baldwin, Bonner Springs, DeSoto, KC Sumner, Bishop Meige, Ottawa, Hayden and the host Spring Hill.

In Class 3-2-1A all the area teams are paired up in the same Regional as one area team hosts with the action in Leavenworth this year as the Raiders of Immaculata host. Sabetha, Hiawatha, Marysville will all square off in Leavenworth with Maranatha, KC Christian Hillsboro, Neodesha and Wabaunsee joining them on the court. Action is set for October 11th and 12th in Leavenworth.
