Sabetha Girls Tennis Take First at Seaman Invite

The great start to the tennis season continued on Wednesday (September 11th) for the lady Bluejays of Sabetha as they traveled to Topeka to compete in action at the Seaman Invitational and came out on top taking first place as a team going 9-1 in competition.

In the doubles competition it was a clean sweep for the Bluejays as the tandems of Amy Wyson and Ellie Montgomery and Courtney Plattner and Jordyn Wells each took home first place with 3-0 performances on the day. Wysong and Montgomery competed in the doubles number one competition while, Plattner and Wells won the doubles number two competition.

Singles competitors, Alexa Menold and Lexi Wenger didn't disappoint on the day either taking home a second place and first place individually. For Menold she took home second in the singles competition number one after posting a 2-1 record, while Wenger took first in the single number two competition going a perfect 3-0 on the day.

Bluejays coach, Alicia Deters said she like how the girls performed and believes they are moving along in the quite well early in the season.

The lady Bluejays hit the court again Thursday night (September 12th) as they host a quad against, Immaculata, Hiawatha and Hayden at 3:00pm.
