Second edition of the weekly local sports talk show called "Pressbox Perspective" with Mike Smith posted weekly here on MSCSports.net every Thursday.

The weekly show breaks down all Northeast Kansas high school sports throughout the high school athletic year and will be 30 minutes to an hour in length each week. Mike keeps you up to date all the latest results in all the area high school sports, while also bring you interviews with area athletes, coaches from non-football and basketball sports and others.

Also look at how Northeast Kansas area athletes that have graduated and are playing at the college level are doing in their careers and possibly interview some of those athletes from time to time, also.

Second episode of "Pressbox Perspective" includes a look at all the falls sports in the Northeast Kansas area and a look at area athletes competing at the college level.

First up, Mike breakdowns down high school football as it's opening week of the season. In preperation for the season we look at the rankings with a quick glance again this week and then look to the week one matches and breakdown some possible matchups to watch in week one for area teams. 

Also, Mike goes back to last Friday and talks about Hiawatha Red Hawk senior, Peyton Newell big college decision as he decided to attend Nebraska next year to continue his football career.

Wrapped up the football talk with an area athlete profile, as Mike caught up with B&B Falcon senior quarterback, Dustin Rottinghaus and chatted about the upcoming season, continuing the B&B winning tradition, his future plans and more.

After football, Mike breaks down some of the first volleyball action of the season and talks about some of the surprise teams in the first contests.

Cruising along continuing to talk falls sports, Mike talked about some girls golf and tennis great performances to start the season.

The tennis talked continued as Mike caught up with Sabetha lady Bluejays tennis coach, Alicia Deters and chatted about the great performances last season, how this season is going early into the year and who is taking on leadership roles for the squad.

Mike wrapped up the show by taking look at Highland CC sports and Benedictine football on top of talking about some athletes from the area that are performing well in college atheltics. While, Mike also caught up with former Hiawatha Red Hawk and current Washburn Ichabod football player, Denzel Chilcoat and talked about adjusting to college life, his former teammate, Peyton Newell's college decision and how Washburn is looking for the upcoming season.
