Looking to keep remain unbeaten in league play and stay firmly atop the NEK League standings Seneca played host to Sabetha who was looking to snap their losing streak. At the end of the night Seneca added another win to their total with a 3-0 victory but Sabetha gave them their first league loss to topping them in the second game of the double header, winning 7-4.

In game one offense was at a premium and it came down to who could capitalize the best on their opportunities in the contest and that would Seneca. Scoreless going into the bottom of the fifth inning Seneca turned a lead-off walk into a 1-0 lead and then added two more runs in the sixth to lead 3-0 and notch the win.

Alex Hermesch was dealing from the mound, pitching the complete game shutout for Seneca giving up only three hits, two walks and striking out seven, while adding an RBI double offensively. Tim Nolte and Joshua Schraad each picked up an RBI for Seneca, also on the night.

Blake Popkess was on the losing end of the game on the mound for Sabetha going the distance only giving up four hits, but the free passes hurt Sabetha in the game.
