Former ACCHS Tiger, Jake Hansen Continuing His Basketball Career at Ottawa

Former ACCHS Tiger, Jake Hansen has made the best of his opportunity to continue his basketball career in college as he’s currently playing at Ottawa University the Braves men’s basketball team.

Ottawa is off to a 7-6 start this season and Hansen who transferred to Ottawa from Hesston College jumped into the mix this year after a redshirt season last year. Hansen on the season has played in all 13 games making six starts and averages 6.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in what is his junior season. The Braves opened the season with a tough loss to Baker but Hansen notched 14 points in the contest and put together another 14 point showing against Oklahoma Wesleyan this season also, as he’s scored double figures four times. He also had a 10 rebound game in a win over Sterling.

In two years at Hesston College Hansen made a strong impact on the team playing in 59 games with 47 starts averaging 7.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game and totaled 45 blocks. The former ACCHS Tiger also helped the Hesston men win the Region VI Championship one of his two years and was a two-year letterman.

At ACCHS Hansen was named All-League three times in basketball and also earned All-State honorable mention basketball honors, while helping his MAYB team make the National Championship.

Hansen looks to continue to make an impact for the Ottawa Braves on the basketball court as the team looks to put together a solid season.
