Former Holton Wildcat, Tavin Dugan Performing Well On the Links at Washburn

Former Holton Wildcat, Tavin Dugan has entered his final semester of teeing it up for the Washburn golf team as the senior is looking to cap his Ichabod career with a strong finish.

Dugan and the Washburn men’s golf team have already competed in a trio of competitions to start the spring season and the former Holton Wildcat has made in impact in some solid finishes for the Ichabods. To open the spring season Washburn took second as a team at their home Invitational out of 14 teams and Dugan carded an 82 to tie for 43rd individually. In the most recent action Tavin posted a 154 score with rounds of 76 and 78 to tie for 33rd individually and help his team tie for third at the Northern Sun Preview competing against 12 other teams.

Back in the fall of his senior campaign Tavin competed in four events posting an average round of 74 and notched three Top 30 finishes including tying for 13th place at the NSU Fall Classic with a score of 213.

As a junior the Holton native hit the links for eight events carding an average round of 78.05 and picked up a pair of Top 10 finishes. He placed fourth at the Washburn Invite in a three round tournament, while tying for seventh at the Dave Falconer Classic. In his sophomore campaign he competed in five events with an average round of 77.3, placing 15th at Tennessee River Rumble and during his freshman year posted an average round of 78.4 and placed 11th at the Washburn Invite.

In high school as a Holton Wildcat Dugan won six golf events as a senior taking fourth at Regionals and 19th at Class 4A State tournament. As a junior he tied for fifth at the 4A State tournament and overall was a three-time State qualifier.

Dugan looks to cap off his college career with a strong spring for Washburn as the Ichabods look to continue to build upon a solid start to the spring.
