Former Valley Falls Dragon, Jenna Kramer Starting As A Freshman At Ottawa

Athletic ability runs in the family and playing basketball too, Jenna Kramer is the latest Kramer to continue her basketball career in college as her sisters played or play college basketball also with Jordan at Benedictine, graduating last year and Jacee currently at Emporia State.

Jenna has started her collegiate career strong earning a starting role at Ottawa University with the Braves as just a freshman. Fourteen games into the season Jenna has started all 14 and is posting 9.9 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game, while shooting 35% from the floor, 34.5% from three and 84.3% from the free throw line which leads the team.

Kramer started her collegiate career with her best rebounding performance of the season grabbing eight boards against Park (MO), while recording six points and followed that up with a collegiate best 16 points in the next game against Baker and nabbed five steals also in the game. She also recorded 16 points against Sterling during the season and has eight double figure scoring games.

The former Valley Falls Dragon ranks 28th in the nation in NAIA Division II in free throw percentage (84.3%), which also ranks seventh in the KCAC, while also ranking 24th in scoring in the KCAC and tied for 15th in assists per game in the KCAC.

Just last year in high school at Valley Falls, Jenna helped the Dragons go 25-1 and win the NEKL title and take third in 2A at State in her senior year, while earning honorable mention All-State honors and second team All-Northeast Kansas League. Kramer while in high school was a multiple sport athlete lettering in not only basketball, but volleyball, softball and track.

The Ottawa Braves are off to a 8-6 start this year and Kramer has jumped into the fold for the Braves from the onset of her college career and looks to continue to make a big impact for the Braves on the hardwood.
