Hiawatha Red Hawks flew out to a 20-7 lead at halftime after Doniphan West led 7-6 early in the game in the first quarter. The Red Hawks had to hold off the Mustangs down the stretch as a 19-7 fourth quarter by Doniphan West made the game tight. Colin Sample led Hiawatha on the ground with 139 yards on 14 carries with a TD, while Joseph Kunkel was 6-10 for 120 yards and 2 TDs (INT). Tyrese Cook and Alan Simpson caught TD passes of 35 and 20-yards, respectively while Manuel Flores ran for a TD for Hiawatha.
Doniphan West in the loss had Carson Lackey and Clayton Ridout notch 11 and 50-yard TD runs, while Levi Watts tossed 40 and 10-yard TD passes to Luke Blevins.
