For the second straight year Holton meet up with Columbus in the 4A-DII playoffs and this year it was in Sub-State with a spot in the title game up for grabs and the Wildcats got revenge as they scored on a Mason Barta TD run late with 31 seconds and behind a Spencer Baum run on a 2pt conversion earned the win (Columbus won on a late score in 2014 in the Sectional round against Holton). The gamw as tied 7-7 at half and Columbus led 23-15 after three quarters.
Holton ran for 351 yards as a team with Baum leading the way with 129 yards on 18 carries and had a TD reception from Justin Rieschick who also ran for 92 yards on 10 carries with a TD. Barta posted 90 yards on 22 carries with a TD.
