Girls Basketball - Centralia vs Valley Heights 01/20/2018 6:00 PM

TVL Tournament (at Onaga) - Championship

Centralia overcomes a halftime deficit to comeback and take the TVL Tournament title for the fourth straight year and 13th time overall beating Valley Heights 62-58. Centralia held the 14-10 advantage after the first quarter but the lead quickly flipped to Valley Heights at 18-16 in the second quarter and with a 22-4 second quarter by the Mustangs it was a 32-18 Valley Heights halftime lead. Kayla Smith led the charge for Valley Heights with 16 first half points. Centralia had an answer in the second half closing the lead to seven after three quarters and then battling back to take a 56-55 lead with 2:08 to go for their first lead in the second half. The Panthers closed the game out with a 23-12 fourth quarter to take the win. 

In the win Centralia was led by a trio of double figure scorers as Madison Lueger scored 21 points with 19 coming in the second half, while Morgan Kramer netted a season best 20 points hitting three three-pointers and Katie Glatczak scored 17 points. The trio all earned Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on 92.1 KMZA as Centralia moved to 11-1 on the year. 

Valley Heights in the loss was led by Smith who scored 22 points, while Sam Vermetten added 16 points as the Mustangs moved to 8-4 on the year.
