Axtell opened the game on an 8-0 run but Troy answered with a 9-0 run and the Trojans ultimately led 19-16 at the end of the first quarter. Eagles posted a 26-10 second quarter to lead 42-29 at the half but Troy answered with a 20-8 third quarter to make it a one-point game entering the fourth. Axtell finished the game with an 18-8 fourth quarter to earn the win.
Quinn Buessing and Hunter Koch each had 21 points to lead Axtell, while JJ Hart chipped in 15 points. Troy was led by Jacob Mott who netted 17 points, while Reid Jasper scored 16 points and Tate Smith tallied 10 points.
