Marysville made the State title game for the first time since 2009 beating unbeaten Phillipsburg n the Sub-State round of the playoffs. Marysville led 8-0 after the 1st quarter but the game was tied at 14-14 at the half. The Bulldogs used a 16-10 second half to earn the win but did trail 24-22 in the 4th quarter in the contest.
Marysville was led by Jack Blumer who was 15-23 for 217 yards with a TD and ran for 96 yards on 9 carries. Jacob Backus caught 7 passes for 92 yards with a TD, while Gabe Pieschl caught 4 passes for 97 yards. Atreyau Hornbeak ran for 63 yards on 12 carries with 3 TDs.
Phillipsburg ran for 289 yards as a team in the loss.
