Football - Rossville vs Nemaha Central 11/18/2016 7:00 PM

Nemaha Central made Sub-State for the first time since 1975 but fell to a familiar postseason foe in Rossville who ended Nemaha's season three of the last four years in the playoffs. Rossville scored on the first drive of the game but Nemaha Central answered on their first drive but missed a two-point conversion making it 7-6. Both teams added a TD in late part of the second quarter and it was tied 14-14, but Rossville scored again with 31 seconds left first half to lead 21-14 at halftime. Nemaha Central with a long second drive in the second half and with a TD and two-point conversion took their only lead 22-21 with 1:19 left in the third quarter. A Jacob Bradshaw 64-yard TD run in the fourth gave Rossville the lead again and ultimately the win as Nemaha Central had two more opportunities spoiled by an INT and turnover on downs in the final seconds of the game. 

Nemaha Central had 2 turnovers (both INTs) in the contest, but did run for 233 yards as a team with Mitchell Henry rushing for 90 yards on 18 carries with 2 TDs. Ryan Hasenkamp added 70 yards on 18 carries with a 21-yard TD run but was only 6-18 for 57 yards passing. 

Jacob Bradshaw led Rossville with 109 yards on 8-11 passing with 2 TDs and ran for 130 yards with a TD. Cole Schumacher caught 5 passes for 76 yards with 2 TDs.
