For first time since 1987 that both Sabetha and Nemaha Central meet up late in a season unbeaten and it was close as the Thunder edged Sabetha scoring the game winning touchdown on a one-yard Luke Haverkamp run with 57.6 left in the contest, giving Nemaha a win over rival Sabetha for the ninth time in the last 10 meetings.
Game was tied 7-7 at the half after Sabetha was held out of the endzone right before halftime being stopped at the one-yard line. Bluejays took a 14-7 lead in the third quarter on an 82-yard run by Blake Plattner, but Nemaha Central made the comeback with defensive stops to set up short fields.
Ryan Hasenkamp was 7-13 for 60 yards and ran for 114 yards on 18 carries, while Dylan Enneking tossed a 16-yard TD pass to Luke Haverkamp who also had the game winning rushing TD for Nemaha Central.
Sabetha was led by Plattner who ran for 164 yards on 18 carries with 2 TDs.
