The Frankfort Wildcats and Doniphan West Mustangs took each other on for the third and fourth time this season for their second doubleheader. Frankfort swept 2-0 in the second double-header, unlike the first series 1-1 split, and continued their now eight-game winning streak. Frankfort won the first game and it was filled with home runs, stolen bases, big run innings, and nothing but high-flying offenses, all coming down to a late rally by the Mustangs in the final inning, but unfortunately for Doniphan West, the Mustangs would be held one run shy of the 15-14 final to fall to the Wildcats.

Doniphan West would start the game on top with Dustin Veach getting on base off a base hit for a single, stole both second and third, and Cooper Eberly proceeded to bat him in off a sacrifice fly. However, the Mustangs would quickly lose the lead in the bottom of the first with Wes Anderson scoring off a Henry Ketter single and Ketter scoring off a Ty Smith two-shot homer. It was 3-1 exiting the first.

Doniphan West would respond in the second inning by spotting five runs, all runs produced off two outs. But the Mustangs wouldn’t hold the lead for long, as the Frankfort would take it by the bottom of the third, scoring two in the second and four in the third.

Lane Louiseau finally started to click on the Wildcats mound, and the Mustangs had three straight scoreless innings between the third and fifth. Frankfort built a 12-6 lead going into the final inning, but the Mustangs didn’t go down easy. The Mustangs got it to one in the top of the seventh 15-14 with no outs and the bases loaded, but unfortunately for the Mustangs, a mental mistake on the base paths resulted in a double-play, and the game ended on a strikeout delivered by Ty Smith.

Doniphan West committed six errors in the game, while Frankfort only had one. There were a couple of offensive mistakes also sprinkled in for the Mustangs. Doniphan West finished with fourteen runs off ten hits and left seven on base. Frankfort ended with fifteen runs off ten hits and left eight on base.

Wes Anderson reached base all five times and scored for the Wildcats with three hits, while Henry Ketter sat behind him with three runs scored and three hits as well. Ty Smith and Lane Louiseau both recorded home run shots for the Wildcats. Frankfort scored in every inning as well, except for the bottom of the seventh since they did not have to bat.

Cooper Eberly had three doubles with five RBIs for the Mustangs and had the best bat production for Doniphan West.

Game two ended 10-3 with Frankfort sweeping the double-header.
