Jefferson County North cross country runner Lucas Meredith highlighted area athletes at the Pleasant Ridge Invite on Saturday as he won the event with a time of 17:05.59. 

The Chargers finished fourth in the team standings behind Eudora, Tonganoxie, and St. James Academy. Perry-Lecompton, Pleasant Ridge, Maur Hill-Mount Academy, and Oskaloosa rounded out the team scores. 

Perry-Lecompton posted two runners inside the top 10 with Ethan Tolbert finishing in fifth place and Marius Carlsen finishing not far behind in sixth place. 

The girls race was highlighted by Oskaloosa who finished in second place in the team standings behind only Eudora. 

The Bears posted four runners inside the top 15 including two inside the top five. 

Katelyn Vogel finished in third place, Taylor Peterson finished in fourth place, Emma Vogel finished in 11th place, and Katie Peterson finished in 15th place. 

Maur Hill-Mount Academy finished in fifth place followed by Pleasant Ridge, McLouth, and Jefferson County North. 

Brooklyn Schmelzle of Valley Falls had a solid outing finishing in 10th place.
