K-Preps have released their final rankings for the 2023 season as State Champions were crowned over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Axtell (13-0) won their 39th straight game over South Central claiming a third straight 8M-II State Title. The Eagles finished the season where they began, at number one.
Frankfort closed the year with a 9-3 record and lost to Axtell in the semifinals. The Wildcats finished number three behind only Axtell and South Central.
Jefferson County North (11-2) posted their best season in school history making the 1A State Title game before falling to Conway Springs. The Chargers finished with a number two ranking behind only the Cardinals, the school's eighth title in school history.
Nemaha Central won their second straight Class 2A title defeating Hoisington in Salina and went 13-0 for a second straight season. The Thunder finished number one while Sabetha, who went 10-2, finished ranked number four.
