Seven Area Teams Highlight Week Six High School Football Rankings

Week five of the high school football season is in the books and after a wild Friday night seven area teams are ranked in the newest set of state rankings.

Class 3A continues to have two teams in the top five with Marysville at No. 2 in both publications and Sabetha at No. 4 according to Kpreps and No. 5 in the Cap Journal after the Bulldogs got by previously unbeaten Wamego 20-17 while the Bluejays blew out Hiawatha 53-0.

The Centralia Panthers continue to hold a spot in the top five in Class 1A at No. 4 on Kpreps and No. 5 in the Cap Journal after a dominant 46-12 win over Troy and are outscoring opponents 186-72.

A new team is into the 8-man DI rankings as the Clifton-Clyde Eagles are into the top five at No. 5 after beating previously ranked and unbeaten Victoria last week 28-14.

The final two ranked teams come in 8-man DII with Hanover at No. 1 and Axtell at No. 2 after both earned blow out victories on Friday night. The two are set to face off this week in one of the marque games around the state.

Frankfort is also into the 8-man DII rankings as the Wildcats are fifth with a 5-0 record after a 54-0 win over Blue Valley.
