Perry Lecompton Leads Area Teams at Jeff West Cross Country Invite

Jeff West XC Invitational Results – Girls & Boys

The high school cross country season got underway for area teams yesterday at the Jeff West Invitational and the best team finished on the day came from Perry Lecompton who took second place on both the girls’ and boys’ sides.

On the girls side the Kaws had just one runner inside of the top 10 as Blaise Ball led the way taking third with a time of 23:38.03 which led area competitors.

ACCHS and Jeff West also added runners inside of the top five as Victoria Caplinger finished fourth and Macy Tucker fifth, respectively.

The top 10 was rounded out by Holton and McLouth as the Cats had Alayna Clayton finish eighth while the Bulldogs had Baylee Wolfe finish right behind in ninth.

On the boy’s side Perry had two guys finish inside of the top 10 to lead the way as James Bartlett finished fourth while Reece Sollars came in ninth.

The meet was won by Valley Falls’ Noah Hefty who won the race over Wetmore’s Rasmus Nielson by six seconds with a time of 18:33.21.

The top 10 was rounded out by Royal Valley, McLouth and Jeff West as the Panthers had Nue Tinajero take fifth, the Bulldogs’ Henry Cloyd sixth and the Tigers Conner Inman eight to round out top area finishers.
