11 Area Wrestlers, Two Teams Highlight Dec. 18 KWCA Rankings

Dec. 18 KWCA –  4A Rankings, 3-2-1A Rankings

It’s the halfway point of the 2018-19 high school wrestling season as almost all teams are into the holiday break and with that the newest set of rankings have been released by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association.

In Class 4A the Holton Wildcats have three guys ranked in the newest set, as Jake Barnes is ranked fifth in the 106 pound weight class, Kolby Rousch second at 132 and Konnor Tannahill third at 182.  

The 3-2-1A rankings also feature eight area wrestlers and two teams, as the Sabetha Bluejays are ranked third as a team while Riverside checks in ninth.

The Bluejays currently have four guys ranked in the top six, led by Elliott Strahm holding the top overall spot in the 285 pound weight class. Sabetha also has Kaden Dillon sixth at 126 pounds, Kamden Brownlee third at 145 and Cauy Rokey third at 220 pounds.

As to Riverside the Cyclones have Luke Horn ranked second at 145 pounds, Beau Horn fifth at 132 and Kinstin Juhl fourth at 160.

Pleasant Ridge, ACCHS and Oskaloosa also each have wrestlers ranked in the newest set, as the Rams have Trevor Ragland as the No. 1-ranked wrestler at 106 pounds, while ACCHS also has Mason Scholz sixth at 106 and Oskaloosa Christopher King fifth at 285.
