Full Wamego Boys Golf Invitational Results (4-5-16) - click here

The boys golf season is underway and a few area teams got the season rolling as part of the Wamego Invitational on Tuesday. 

Leading the charge for the area teams at the Wamego Invite was the Sabetha Bluejays as they put together a solid day's performance. The Bluejays in the four-man team competition posted a score of 353 to take second place of 10 teams competing, finishing only behind the host Wamego who had a four-man team score of 313. While Sabetha for a six-man team score recorded a 548 to take second place again only behind Wamego once again. Rounds of 86 by Jesse Burger and Garrett Scott paced Sabetha on the day as they finished sixth and seventh individually, while an 87 earned Connor Epple a ninth place finish on the day. Noah Garber and Reese Lierz each carded rounds of 94 on the day for the Bluejays and Jonah Montgomery posted a 101. 

Perry Lecompton and Marysville also competed on the day at the Wamego Invitational but struggled. The Kaws notched a four-man team score of 470 and a six-man team score of 830, while Marysvile carded a four-man team score of 478 and six-man team score of 838 (each school had only four golfers at the competition). Joe Ellenbecker led Marysville on the day with a 99, while the top round for Perry Lecompton was a 109 by Cooper Busey.
