Valley Heights capitalized upon a slightly injured Centralia squad who had only a few practices in the books for hitting the hardwood to start the season (Centralia of course playing in the Class 2-1A state title football game). Junior, Charles Musil lead the Mustangs with 16 points on the night, while seven other Mustangs tallied points in the game.
The Panthers were without their top returning scorer, Sam Steinlage and were lead by Darrin Turner on the night who had 12 points, while Brett Burdiek chipped in 10.
