Class 4A State Title --- Holton caps off perfect 14-0 season with state title, first since 2005 when they finished that season unbeaten. This is the Wildcats third state title under Coach Barta.
It was a defensive battle and showcase of the running game between the Holton Wildcats and Eudora Cardinals, as the game featured only eight total passes combined in the ballgame.
Wildcats pitched their fourth shutout of the season and gave up only 140 total yards of offense to the Cardinals, while Holton rushed for 218 yards in the game and three rushing scores. Lane Lassiter (35 yds), Jaxon Wright (36 yds) and Chase Wilson (9 yds) each tallied a rushing score in the ball game.
Wright finished with 71 yards rushing on 5 carries (TD); Drake Ewing 11 carries 31 yards; Cameron Karn 14 carries 54 yards; Lassiter 8 carries 42 yards (TD); Brendon Hampton 2 carries 9 yards; Wilson 3 carries 11 yards (TD).
