After losing three games in the fourth quarter this season, the Jeff West Tigers were able to hang on to a 13-6 victory versus Perry Lecompton on Thursday night to qualify for the 4A Playoffs. Jeff West improved to 5-0 at home this season and took an early 7-0 lead when Ian Mullins tossed a 36 yard TD pass to Drew Slimmer. That 7-0 advantage lasted until the fourth quarter, when Mullins hit Josh Becker for a 27 yard touchdown pass to make it 13-0. Fellow Big 7 foe Perry Lecompton however answered with a Brandon Eddy 62 yard run that got the Kaws within striking distance. Perry was driving late in the game when Mullins intercepted a pass at the Jeff West 13 yard-line to preserve the win. Jeff West got 119 yards from Wyatt Miller to improve to 5-4 and is the district runner-up thanks to Tonganoxie's 18-11 win against Basehor-Linwood. The Tigers will travel to play at KC Piper on Tuesday. Perry ends their season 3-6.
