Hanover Wildcats held a 31-27 lead at the half, but Axtell cut that to two-point lead in the final minute of the game but ultimately behind late free throws Hanover was able to hold on for the win. Wade Steinfort paced the Wildcats with 19 points, while Will Bruna chipped in 11 points and Hunter Nicholson scored 10 points. Axtell in the loss was led by Payton Heinen who finished with 23 points, while Christian Buessing posted 14 points and Zach Heinen added 10 points.
