Jefferson West Baseball Captures Big East League Title

What a season it has been for the Jefferson West baseball team. 

Heading into their final matchup of the regular season with a 22-1 record and 17-1 mark in Big East League play. They are four games up on second place Sabetha and Silver Lake locking them up the Big East League Title. 

The Big East League provided some of the best competition in the state with five teams having at least 12 or more league wins. 

The Tigers won their first 17 games this season before their only loss coming at the hands of Sabetha. 

Andrew Beilman has had an all-state caliber season batting .444 with 32 hits and 30 RBI's. He's got 12 doubles and two home runs. 

The Tigers are averaging nine runs per game and have a team batting average of .370. 

Jefferson West is in the Bishop Ward Regional Tournament which will start next week. The field includes West Franklin who is 19-1.
