Onaga Golf Wins Vermillion Golf Invitational

Five Twin Valley League golf teams meet up against each in Onaga for as Frankfort & Centralia (Vermillion school district) hosted the Vermillion Invitational at Onaga, as its one early time this season that these teams will compete against each other.

Four of the five teams fielded a full team on the days action with the Onaga Buffaloes leading the way taking home a first place finish behind a team score of 360, which was 27 strokes better than second place. Buffaloes were lead by Matt Marten and Mitchell Kufhal who tallied rounds of 88 and 89 on the day, respectively, good for the third and fourth best individual performance of the day. Devin Schlegel and Lucas Helget rounded out the 4-man score after shooting 91 and 92, respectively.

Vermillion squad, comprised of Centralia and Frankfort took home a second place finish in there host tournament with a team score of 387. Ryan Vernon paced the way for the team shooting an 87 on the day, good for the second best round of the day. Danny Mueting, Brett Kenworthy and Brett Burdiek rounded out the 4-man scores for Vermillion with Mueting posting a 94, Kenworthy 99 and Burdiek a 107.

Third and fourth place went to Valley Heights and B&B respectively with team scores of 413 and 440 respectively.

For the Mustangs their 4-man team was made up of Alec Doner who shot a 99 to lead Valley Heights, Brendon Dobrovolny (100), Mike Clark (104) and Seth McKay (110).

The Falcons were lead by Cameron Haug who shot a 101 on the day and his teammates Bryce Kohake and Blake Reinecke each shot 111 and 112, respectively. While, Tyler Deters and Dylan Schmitz rounded the team scoring as they both tallied a 116 on the day.

Linn, also competed at the tournament but didn't field a full team on the day but was highlighted by the best individual round as Zak Voelker shot an 85 on the day, two strokes better an anyone else in the action.
